Schwartz Center Annual Dinner
On Tuesday night I went to The Schwartz Center 15th Annual Dinner. The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare’s mission is simple, but compelling: to promote compassionate health care so that patients and their professional caregivers relate to one another in a way that provides hope to the patient, support to caregivers and sustenance to the healing process. It's truly an amazing organization that my company has been involved with for the past 6 years. The most recent work we did for them was a complete rebrand of their logo. It made me feel really proud to be a part of something that touches so many people.

Chris Sanders
I was recently sent a large newspaper-like magazine in the mail. At first, I was unsure of what it was promoting. Gorgeous people, gorgeous clothes, gorgeous photography?? Hmmmmm, Ah HA! Chris Sanders, a New York City commercial-based photographer, takes incredibly brilliant stills. Taking lifestyle photos, he's able to capture a lot more emotion and intimacy. Take a look at his site - he also has downloadable PDFs from which to get inspired. I will definitely be using his shots in some AD comps.

Hatch Awards
I'm a little late - but last Thursday I went to the Ad Club's Hatch Awards. It was the 50th Anniversary of the show. For those of you who don't know, it's an event that showcases the best in the ad industry of Boston. This year it was at the Wang Theatre, which was pretty fancy! I really enjoyed checking out all the new creatives & socializing with people in the field.
The Hatch video was also very clever/hilarious.
Thanks for keeping me on my toes Hatch!

This past weekend was a blast. Friday night I went to the Lenox Hotel to meet up with some friends for drinks at City Bar. I had never been and it is right around the corner from where I live - i'll deffo hit it up again. Saturday, I drove w/ L up to Marblehead for a boating trip to Philips Beach where we anchored off shore, watched the beach parties, paddleboarded, ate and drank some good beers. After we left there we went over to Browns Island and rafted up with a few other boats. Saturday night, L and I met up with two of our guy friends and went to the Sox vs. Rangers game at Fenway. We won 3-2 in the 11th inning - it was a blast & we had seats right behind home plate 7 rows back. Then we headed to Bleacher Bar followed by Tia's. Here are a few photos from the festivities. :)

4th of July Weekend!
Hope everyone had a great fourth of july! My weekend was PACKED with activities... My three brothers were in town (Hunter, Jacques & Fritz) and I haven't seen them since Christmas - it is always an interesting time. Whatever we do, we always push the limits. I'm still recovering - if you know what I mean. I also saw a lot of my old friends from grade school; I love to catch up with people and see where they are in their lives. Here's a few pics from the weekend:

a good break from boston...
Friday, I headed up to Marblehead for my good friends birthday party. He has a beautiful home along the water on the neck and it was great to play bags, eat delicious food and catch up with kids I grew up with. Saturday, I spent the day time with my family, got my nails done, went lobstering, and hit up Maddie's Sail loft in the evening. Sunday, I went out on my friend's boat to Misery Island; which is always fun for floatilla's. Then Sunday night I had my little step brothers Highschool Graduation party - off to Bentley for him!
Here's some pics of Friday night:

Lonny: I love you!
Ever since Domino was cut back in March '09, I have been searching for a magazine that holds a candle to Domino's fresh style, bold colors and affordable design focus. Low and behold; Lonny! (London & New York)! Lonny was actually launched last fall by a former Domino staffer! Similar to Domino, Lonny has a nice, clean design; but it has a digital nature. It uses the Issuu platform which provides a magazine-style browsing experience, complete with table of contents, full page ads (also clickable!) and page flipping. Full-screen, single-page and zoom viewing options provide even better visuals of the merchandise and showrooms!
I AM SO HAPPY!

Memorial Day Weekend!
I had such a great weekend! My best friend Lindsay came to visit Boston and I had a lot planned for us: boston harbor cruise/island adventure, pool party, salem bars, marblehead to rockport on our boat, maddie's sail loft and lobster dinner. I am exhausted - but it was well worth it!

Lobstahhs
My family has a house on the harbor in Marblehead; so naturally we are into seafood. We have a residential lobstering license to own 10 traps, which gets us too many lobsters. We use our cute boston whaler to go from our dock to each of the traps to bait and check them. So last night I went up to visit and had my first lobster of the season, call me spoiled but I usually get sick of them by the beginning of July. Personally, I think its more fun to go out and catch them than eat them.
Note: always accompany your lobster with a mount gay/tonic & extra limes.

Red Sox vs Angels
Last night I took my mom to a Red Sox game - she hadn't been in a few seasons so I thought since Mother's Day is Sunday; why not be a gem and take the lady! We ended up drinking lots of sam summers & laughing at other drunk fans! I love her...

Boston Chamber of Commerce
Tonight I am attending the 101st annual meeting & dinner with several of my colleagues. It is the largest gathering of Boston's business leaders; so should be a great event for networking & socializing. The keynote speaker is Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger, III who was the pilot who landed the US Airways flight on the Hudson in 2009. Hopefully Tom & Gysele will be in attendance again this year - maybe with the baby?

HAIRraising Cut-A-Thon!
Last Sunday every salon on Newbury held a Cut-A-Thon for the Children's Hospital of Boston. My mother and I tried out Emerge; which is right around the corner from my apartment and is the salon I am going to start to use. It was such a great cause and pretty much a win/win for me! My new hairdresser thinks I should go a darker brownish red.
Could be fun, what do you think?

If you need CPR - I am your girl...
I used to be certified back when I was teaching sailing to the kiddies at the cyc... & when I heard we were going to get someone to come into our office, I had to do it. We used EnjoyCPR which turned out to have a pretty good course. Of course when I got up to practice I noticed that Dwight and I have a similar course of action for these kind of emergencies...

We have added a new member to our Supper Club & she is an amazing chef! We had it at Nikki's place and did it on her roof deck. The views & food were phenomenal.

Apple announced "iAd"
Yesterday Apple announced a new ad service for iPhone OS (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad) called iAd. If you want to see the Steve Jobs demo of it, go here:
(skip to 00:44:00 or so to get straight to the iAd demo)
Apple basically just made a HUGE bid to become a dominant player in the mobile advertising market & opened a lot of doors for advertisers! Woohoo!
